Sleeper Watch

By Arlo Vander

A few weeks ago, the first backup RB picked in most drafts would have been Dominic Rhodes. Edgerrin James, one of the most prolific fantasy scorers two seasons ago, returns from an ACL injury (the same ailment that also left Terrell Davis and Jamal Anderson out for the season last year), and Rhodes was next in line for solid fantasy production if the Edge suffers a setback. Now, Rhodes has suffered that same injury. The Colts reacted by resigning Kevin McDougal who knows their offense already and will step in as James’ backup.

McDougal never had the chance to surpass James on the Colts’ depth charts an thus show his skills, but he’s only as much an unknown as Rhodes was last year, and their talent level is comparable. Replace Rhodes with McDougal on your cheat sheets, especially if you’ve already picked James.
