This is a computerized ranking system created by Charles Budd and Steve Maluk (known in the forums as Buckychudd and Wesley Walker). Factors considered include 2003 performance of players and opposing defenses as well as the Vegas over/under and point spreads (to predict scoring). Players on byes are obviously not included, nor are players listed as “out” or “doubtful.”
Point projections are based on the following scoring system: 1 point for 25 yards passing or 10 yards rushing/receiving; 6 points per TD; -1 per sack or fumble; -2 per interception thrown.
QB:
Two marquee matchups this week will feature four of the game’s best quarterbacks. It’s Culpepper vs. Hasselbeck in Minnesota and McNair vs. Manning in Tennessee. Both games should be high-scoring affairs; all four of these guys could light it up. Doug Flutie makes an interesting, though risky, sleeper this week.

This running back by committee business may have come to a forced end in both Atlanta and San Francisco with injuries to Warrick Dunn and Garrison Hearst. Look for TJ Duckett and Kevan Barlow to benefit. With the elite backs, it’s all about matchups this week. Stephen Davis, Ahman Green, and Travis Henry have good ones, while Priest Holmes may have a more difficult day.

We give all of the top 15 wide receivers except Lavernues seldom-score Coles a better than 50% chance of finding the end zone this week. Darrell Jackson seems to be benefitting most from Matt Hasselbeck’s great form, and D-Jax moves up a few spots from last week. With Joe Jurevicius sitting down for the remainder of the season, Keenan McCardell’s value warrants yet another upgrade.
