Sleeper Watch

By Arlo Vander

Just in case you missed it…

Rams RB Marshall Faulk will miss the next four to six weeks of the season with a broken hand suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks. Filling in for Faulk will be Lamar Gordon, St. Louis’ third-round pick in the 2002 draft out of North Dakota State.

Gordon should fit in well with St. Louis’ game plan, not only running the ball but playing a role in the passing game as well. And while losing their star back doesn’t bode well for the Rams as a team, Gordon should put up nice individual numbers while serving as Faulk’s replacement.

If you’re unlucky enough to own Faulk, inserting Gordon into your lineup should make the wait for your top pick’s return a little bit more bearable. If you’re not a Faulk owner, picking up Gordon will serve to strengthen your roster over the next weeks. In either case, if Gordon is still available in your league and you haven’t filed a waiver claim yet, do so now.
