Which players were on fire last week? Who was as cold as Lambeau Field in the dead of winter? Let’s take a look back at the fantasy football week that was with a rundown of the five best passers, rushers, and receivers, as well as five of each who were utter disappointments.
STUDS
| PASSERS | Att/Comp | Yards | TD | Int |
| Steve McNair, Ten | 23/41 | 343 | 3 | 1 |
| Should have similar stats next week since he will have to pass to keep up with Indianapolis. | ||||
| Eli Manning, NYG | 29/53 | 344 | 2 | 1 |
| Do not look for a repeat performance. Dallas will give Manning problems all day. | ||||
| Carson Palmer, Cin | 22/30 | 302 | 3 | 1 |
| Pittsburgh will shut down the run, which will allow Palmer to shine again. | ||||
| Kurt Warner, Ari | 29/46 | 315 | 2 | 1 |
| Since Arizona does not have a running game, Warner will continue to put up big numbers, especially against San Francisco. | ||||
| Ryan Fitzpatrick, StL | 19/30 | 310 | 3 | 1 |
| Was this performance a fluke? We may not find out against a decent Washington pass D. | ||||
| RUSHERS | Att | Yards | TD | Rec | Rec Yards | Rec TD |
| Ladainian Tomlinson, SD | 25 | 184 | 3 | 6 | 29 | 0 |
| LT will run all over Oakland, just like he runs over everyone else. | ||||||
| Rudi Johnson, Cin | 27 | 114 | 2 | 1 | 5 | 0 |
| Pittsburgh will shut him down. Don’t expect another 100-yard, two-score game. | ||||||
| Shaun Alexander, Sea | 31 | 110 | 2 | 1 | 4 | 0 |
| See LT, except the opponent will be Philadelphia. | ||||||
| Larry Johnson, KC | 31 | 119 | 1 | 5 | 53 | 0 |
| LJ will get his touches, but do not expect much against Denver. | ||||||
| Tiki Barber, NYG | 26 | 151 | 0 | 5 | 27 | 0 |
| Barber has a tough matchup against Dallas, but he will find a way to pile up yards, both receiving and rushing. | ||||||
| RECEIVERS | Rec | Yards | TD |
| Andre Johnson, Hou | 12 | 159 | 1 |
| Since he is the only Houston WR worth starting, he should be a good play against Baltimore. | |||
| Joe Jurevicius, Sea | 8 | 137 | 2 |
| Once Darrell Jackson returns, JJ will be relegated to the #3 slot. If Jackson is back, JJ might not see much action against Philadelphia. | |||
| TJ Houshmandzadeh, Cin | 9 | 147 | 1 |
| Chad Johnson is being double-teamed, and Housh is the beneficiary. Look for another good outing against Pittsburgh. | |||
| Torry Holt, StL | 10 | 130 | 1 |
| It does not seem to matter who is at QB, Holt always gets the yards and TDs. This should continue against Washington. | |||
| Jeremy Shockey, NYG | 10 | 127 | 1 |
| One of the few TEs who is the leading receiver on his team, Shockey has a tough matchup against Dallas, so I would not expect much from him. | |||
| PASSERS | Att/Comp | Yards | TD | Int |
| Mike McMahon, Phi | 12/28 | 91 | 0 | 0 |
| Donovan McNabb’s backup should do a little better against Seattle, but he is unproven, so who knows. | ||||
| Jake Plummer, Den | 15/24 | 162 | 1 | 1 |
| If the Kansas City D plays the way it played against New England, Plummer will be in for a long day. | ||||
| Tom Brady, NE | 22/40 | 248 | 1 | 4 |
| Should rebound against the Jets. Brady usually does not have back-to-back bad games. | ||||
| Kerry Collins, Oak | 21/37 | 226 | 0 | 2 |
| LaMont Jordan might be shut down, so look for Collins to reap the benefits against a weak Chargers pass D. | ||||
| Brett Favre, GB | 15/33 | 171 | 1 | 2 |
| I would expect similar stats next week against a tough Chicago D. | ||||
| RUSHERS | Att | Yards | TD | Rec | Rec Yards | Rec TD |
| Kevin Jones, Det | 4 | 32 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Did not do much against Minnesota in the teams’ last meeting, and his injury may keep him out this week anyway. | ||||||
| Patrick Pass, NE | 8 | 26 | 1 | 1 | -2 | 0 |
| I would not trust any New England RB. Who knows who will get the most touches. | ||||||
| Heath Evans, NE | 6 | 11 | 0 | 3 | 25 | 0 |
| See Pass, Patrick. | ||||||
| Kevin Barlow, SF | 14 | 40 | 1 | 4 | 17 | 0 |
| Barlow is not worth starting, even against Arizona. | ||||||
| Mike Anderson, Den | 11 | 31 | 0 | 2 | 6 | 0 |
| Although he has a tough matchup against the Chiefs, Anderson should have a decent game, especially if Plummer has as tough a time as Brady had against the Chiefs. | ||||||
| RECEIVERS | Rec | Yards | TD |
| Ashley Lelie, Den | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Until he can stay consistent, he should be benched. | |||
| Randy Moss, Oak | 3 | 28 | 0 |
| Moss is not happy in Oakland, and even with an easy matchup, I think Kerry Collins will continue to look for Joey Porter. | |||
| Joe Horn, NO | 4 | 47 | 0 |
| Horn faces a tough matchup against Tampa Bay, but I think he will be back to form and should be the leading WR for the Saints in week 13. | |||
| Brandon Lloyd, SF | 3 | 30 | 0 |
| Arnaz Battle’s return has to hurt Lloyd’s fantasy status. He will have similar numbers against the Cardinals. | |||
| Bobby Engram, Sea | 6 | 34 | 1 |
| I am curious to see if he returns to form once Darrell Jackson is back. If Jurevicius is the #2 next week against Philly, he could post similar numbers. | |||
