2007 NFL Week 10 Barometer

In a great weekend of football we saw several teams put on offensive clinics. Nine teams posted 30 or more points. One of the teams scored 35 points and had a rookie running back claim the NFL single game rushing record. We saw the Patriots prove themselves against the Colts. No doubt the rankers will keep them at number 1. Where will they rank the other 31 teams?

After each week of the NFL season, several active Cafe members get together and rank the 32 NFL teams from first to worst. The Barometer is an average of the rankings submitted by these members. To maintain consistency, the high and low scores have been removed

They absolutely destroyed Baltimore on Monday night. Will they hold down Cleveland’s surprisingly solid offense?

I have been doubting them all year. They are my second favorite team, yet I doubt them. Their record is getting hard to ignore now.

The Giants have won six straight games and are coming off a bye week. Are they freshly rested enough to beat the Cowboys?

Detroit is very solid on offense. I expected that. What I didn’t expect is that their defense is making plays too.

Vince Young doesn’t throw for a ton of yards, but he does win games. LenDale White has been coming on strong lately too.

The Chargers got punched in the gut by Adrian Peterson last week. The matchup against the Colts this week isn’t much easier.

Washington is coming off an overtime win against the Jets. The Jets are not that good. The ‘Skins will have to play better this week against the Eagles.

The Jags were steamrolled by the Saints last week. This week they won’t have to face another aerial onslaught, but the game will be tough.

The Saints have jumped 8 spots this week after winning four straight including a decisive victory over the Jags.

The Bucs improved to 5-4 with a win over the Cardinals. They’ll be watching week 10 action from home.

With a win over the Steelers this week, the Browns would move into a first place tie for the division. Who would have thought that would happen?

Seattle lost a close game in overtime to the Browns. They will look to rebound this week against the 2-6 49ers.

The Ravens got absolutely beat down on Monday night by one of the only decent teams they have played this year. If they had Denver’s schedule they might be fighting with Miami and St. Louis for that number 1 draft pick.

The Chiefs lost last week in a game they had control of. Losing LJ for at least a week, if not a lot more, is a giant blow to the team. Does Priest have enough gas left in the tank to help get them a couple of wins?

After losing to the Titans and Colts, the Panthers will look to get back on track against the Falcons.

The Texans will be getting Andre Johnson back after the bye. They were 2-0 with him in the lineup. I’m excited to see if they build off of last week’s win.

The Bills put up 33 points last week and Lee Evans has been playing some great football. I expect that to continue against Miami.

The Broncos were embarrassed by the Lions on Sunday. They lost Cutler during the game. If he remains out, I have a lot of concerns about this team.

The Bears took the week off. Hopefully they have figured some things out. Right now even their defense is sad.

The Eagles didn’t quite have what it takes to beat the Cowboys. I think this game against the Redskins is a must win. A loss puts them three games behind everyone in their division.

If Arizona allowed 17 points to the Tampa Bay offense, how many will they allow to the Lions?

The Bengals already beat the Ravens earlier in the year in an ugly turnover riddled game. Since then, neither team has looked stellar. Chad Johnson was injured last week but expects to play this week. They also get Chris Henry back this week.

The Raiders have a new horse in the backfield. Justin Fargas should have a decent game this week against Chicago’s 26th ranked run defense.

The 49ers draw their division leader in Seattle this week. They are only two games back, so a win Monday night would be a nice step.

The Falcons won their second game last week as Warrick Dunn ran for 100 yards and a touchdown. This week they hope to win a third against the Panthers.

The Jets took the Redskins to overtime, but lost in the end. They will take the week off.

Hopefully their bye week was enough time for Steven Jackson to get healthy again. They will need him against the booming Saints.

Miami looks to grab their first win against an improving Bills team this week. Can their 31st ranked run defense stop Lynch?
