2008 Cafe Redraft Rankings

With most leagues starting up very soon, some of the Cafeholics decided to get together and offer our thoughts on where the players should be ranked going into this season. These rankings should be able to establish a good baseline for your drafting this season.

The rankings are for a redraft league with standard scoring. For those unsure of what “standard scoring” is, ask Treat24 and he will tell you it is “10 rushing and receiving yards per point, 25 passing yards per point, 4 points per passing touchdown, and 6 points for other touchdowns; any other scoring is a deviation from standard scoring.”

There weren’t too many surprises in the rankings, but one thing that stood out to me was that these rankers have anointed a new number 1 tight end. Also, it was good to see the majority keep Steve Smith in top 6 after his down year last season. Finally, the thing I may be most satisfied with about these rankings is where the rookie running backs were ranked. I have seen the rookies being placed much higher than they should be on numerous fantasy sites and mocks I have been involved with. A poster here brought it up as the Adrian Peterson effect and I for one am glad that these rankers have not fallen into that trap.
