4th and Goal – Show 13

By Michael Stephens

Baltimore Ravens v Cleveland Browns

Welcome to 4th and Goal, hosted by Michael Stephens and Nate Davis! Time for the most pivotal week of the fantasy football season! With the playoff futures of many fantasy teams hanging in the balance, this is the week that can make or break you more than any other! If you make the wrong choices this week, you could be done for the rest of the season, whereas if you make the right moves you could even be rewarded with a week 14 bye! We have lots of injured running backs and individual defensive players this week, headlined by Cedric Benson and Ray Lewis, as well as the usual mix of Cafe Talk, Locks and Flops and Would You Rather, so make sure to check out this episode as you make your final regular-season push of the 2009 season (unless, of course, you play a wacky week 17 championship game that is)! It’s time to call your best play or hit the showers, because it’s 4th and Goal!

Washington Redskins v Dallas Cowboys

• Flea Flickers – a Tweet from a loyal listener!
• So many decent options at FLEX, it’s hard to narrow this one down!
• Wounded Ducks (2:38)
• Two usable signal-callers you’re going to have to replace this week
• Lots of big-name RB news, with some good and some not so much…
• One TE done for the year, but two others who should make it back for week 13
• IDP meat wagon – Ravens everywhere, with a side order of the rest of the league
• In the News – a kickers loses his job, and some relevant Seahawks news (7:19)
• Hot Routes – game balls to last week’s top fantasy performers (8:42)
• Muffed Punts – the games of the week, not-top-7 style! (9:56)

CAFE TALK (11:00)
• Four topics from around the Cafe that “need” our pro bono help!
• Go with the hot hand at WR, not the name…when it’s not an elite name that is!
• Along the same lines, but this one is more injury-driven…
• We like RBs with last names that start with “M” (for this week, at least)
• A flex problem that won’t make many of you jealous – this one’s a toughie!

Washington Redskins v Philadelphia Eagles

• Last week: 5-0, another perfect week (we’re 14-0-1 in the last three)!
• Unless you want to test the fates again, start this guy at QB
• Choosing between head-to-head RBs – the answer might not be what you were expecting though!
• Nate takes some WRs facing each other, but he doesn’t make a homer pick (wow!)
• If ever there was a time to start this TE in 2009, this is the week!
• Two great D/ST matchups, but one is much better than you might think…
• Make sure to check out Comm1680’s defensive formula if you haven’t already – its a GREAT resource

• Last week we took a big step back, but after the week before, you understand, right?
• Three guys each host loves for the upcoming week – listen up and you’ll find out who they are!
• …and three more that aren’t worth a start this week – listen more closely to this part!

Atlanta Falcons v Detroit Lions

• Michael goes 3-2 while Nate pulls another 2-3. This one’s almost in the books!
• Three picks against the spread – these are all over the place this week!
• Two over/under props – a potential shootout, as well as the traditional MNF pick
