4th and Goal – Show 15 - 1 comments

Colts Hart Breaks Free of Broncos Haggan

Welcome to 4th and Goal, hosted by Michael Stephens and Nate Davis! With fantasy GMs and their teams dropping like flies in the first round of the playoffs last weekend, the field is being narrowed and the championship is now in sight! Only two more weeks remain in the fantasy season (unless you play in one of those cooky week-17 championship leagues, in which case we’re sorry you’ll actually have to play Mike Hart and Lance Moore) and every decision is even further magnified! You don’t want to be that guy who starts the kicker who was just replaced, or a running back who just found his way into an ugly three-way timeshare, and the best possible way to avoid that is to listen, and listen closely! This episode has a ream of injury news and player updates, as well as your old favorites, like Would you Rather, Locks and Flops and Cafe Talk, and we strive to do everything in our power to help you get one step closer to fantasy title town. If you’re down in the dumps after a bad start, take solace in this fact: Michael faced a guy who owns Peyton Manning, Maurice Jones-Drew and Reggie Wayne (that’s an 86-0 hole for those of you playing the home game), so it can’t possibly be any worse than that! Anyway, it’s time to call your best play or hit the showers (like Michael will soon be doing), because it’s 4th and Goal!

Dolphins vs. Jets

• Flea Flickers – another e-mailer, lucky enough to still be in the hunt!
• Backing up Peyton, and what to do with multiple kickers
• Wounded Ducks (2:45)
• Two big names, two Matts and a ridiculous Boston Globe reporter
• A major star on the comeback trail? Also, some big-name RBs officially out for the year
• After no WRs last week, nine make their way onto the list, headlined by some BIG names
• An all-time record four injured TEs
• IDP meat wagon – no matter how hard we try, there are at least 12 names on this list!
• In the News – a sad loss for the NFL family, a game-ready PED user and a RB situation to watch in Houston! (9:15)
• Hot Routes – game balls to last week’s top fantasy performers (10:55)
• Muffed Punts – the games of the week, not-top-7 style! (12:14)

Pittsburgh Steelers v Cleveland Browns

CAFE TALK (13:02)
• Four topics from around the Cafe that “need” our pro bono help!
• Pick two out of these four RBs – how did you make the second round with these guys?!
• Which one of these M & M receivers is a better week-15 play?
• Even if you’ve rolled with the Pats in the past, it’s time to head south with your D/ST starter this week!
• It’s hard to imagine trusting this guy as your RB2, but the matchup/situation is unavoidably awesome…

• Last week: 2-1-2 (prolly our worst week this year, but can you really complain?)
• Eli really burned us, but we were “undefeated otherwise” (told you so on Boss vs. Celek!)
• A good back with a terrible matchup, or a no-name back with a GREAT matchup?
• It’s hard to believe a Seahawks WR is a top play in week 15, but Nate thinks this guy is deserving…
• This week, he’s not the Boss. Go with VY’s main man instead.
• Again, play whichever D/ST is playing the Rams (especially if they’re the “hot hand”)
• Make sure to check out Comm1680’s defensive formula if you haven’t already – its a GREAT resource

New England Patriots v Miami Dolphins

• Last week we really turned things around with a 7-3-1…
• A special edition of picks based on the absolute REAMING Michael took on Thursday night (hint: he’s down 86-0 already!)
• Three guys each host loves for the upcoming week – listen up and you’ll find out who they are!
• …and three more that aren’t worth a start this week – listen more closely to this part!

• Nate has one of his best weeks of the season, while Michael struggles to one measly win
• Three picks against the spread – there’s always an honorary homer pick in there somewhere!
• Two over/under props – a potential garbage match and the traditional MNF pick…

Thanks for the help. and to answer your question of how i am in the playoffs still…this is a unique leage were we start 1 qb, 2 rb, 4 wr/te, def, k, and 2 flex (qb,rb,wr,k,te) and i choose to go 3 qb which has been huge for me. thanks for the help and concern.
