4th and Goal – Show 3

By Michael Stephens

Welcome to 4th and Goal, hosted by Michael Stephens and Nate Davis! Two weeks are in the books, and it seems star players are doing one of two things so far: playing out of their minds, or falling victim to early-season injuries! With injuries running amok through the ranks of top running backs and IDP performers, you’ll need every bit of information 4th and Goal has to give about missed time, possible replacements and when you should/shouldn’t cut bait with your fallen stars. Couple this with our longer-than-usual Cafe Talk section, where we answer questions off the Cafe’s message boards, and answers to all of our e-mails and tweets, and you can see why this show is becoming a favorite of Cafe-goers who want quick, up-to-date information that will serve them best on Sundays! There’s all this and much more on this week’s episode, so you’d better call your best play or hit the showers, because it’s 4th and Goal!

QUICK SLANTS
• Flea Flickers – a barrage of much-appreciated e-mailers, and our first legit tweet!
• There’s a time to panic, and a time to stand pat…
• Can this guy trans-Portis your lineup, or should you stand pat?
• Wounded Ducks – signal callers with cracked ribs!
• Big-name backs soon to give way to their younger cohorts!
• Many useful wide receivers earning the fearsome “game-time decision” tag
• Even more IDPers hitting the showers early for week 3
• In the News – Two QB situations to keep an eye on this week

CAFE TALK
• This week, we have a special 6-post section of Cafe Talk, to make up for last week’s lack of available posts!
• The ever-popular “pick 3 of these 5 RBs” post
• A completely heterosexual man-crush you should take advantage of before it’s too late!
• Two QB quandries
• Never, never sit a healthy Stetson model! Right?
• What to do after a whooping? Stay put!
• It’s hard to narrow down IDPers when you have four top-10 LBs, but we did our best!

WOULD YOU RATHER
• Last week: 2-3; time to step it up!
• Who will rule the great state of Ohio?
• Running on Seattle might be everyone’s forte?
• Which teammate emerges after last week’s great performance?
• Which elite TE would you rather have this week?
• Not a mile-high believer, yet…

LOCKS AND FLOPS
• Last week: We nailed almost all of the “flops” again, and managed a very respectable 5-2-5!
• Three guys each host loves for the upcoming week – all you have to do to find out is listen!
• And three that they equally detest (it’s not personal, it’s just business! Or so the saying goes…)

AGAINST THE SPREAD
• Nate reversed last week’s 4-1, while Michael couldn’t do much better – now we both sit at .500…
• Three picks against the spread – we make no guarantees, until we start getting them all right at least!
• Two over/under props – we’d love to take suggestions from listeners, but for now we went for the two potentially highest-scoring affairs!

CONCLUSION
