The Cafe/FleaFlicker Challenge - 1 comments

By R.J. White

This year, the Cafe has been challenged to prove its supremacy as the Number 1 football site on the internet. The guys at FleaFlicker threw the gauntlet down, and we’ve picked it up. Eight members of the Cafe’s Starting Lineup for 2009 will battle eight AOL/Fleaflicker gentlemen all season long. There will be no games between teammates — each and every week, you’ll see all eight Cafe members go up against eight guys from the other team. There will also be no trading between teammates. At the end of the season, the side with the most total wins will be crowned the champion of the Cafe/Fleaflicker Challenge. We’ll then hold a playoff to determine which owner will win the individual championship. Should be a ton of fun!

Each Monday, we’ll provide you with an update as to how the Cafe is faring. You can follow the action on Fleaflicker here. I’d love to hear about how our other Cafe leagues are doing. If you want to provide me with a one or two paragraph update on your league, please submit it to me via PM by Sunday night, and I’ll include it in each Cafe/Fleaflicker column. Here are the members of the Cafe defending its honor, along with their teams:

Looks like the Cafe gang stashed a lot of the expected breakout talent on their benches, which could pay off big as the season progresses.

I know that there’s a “wait and see” attitude about Chris Henry, but I suspect dream_017 would find it worth his while to start him, not Lewis, at the flex position. Tons of upside.

Will be interesting to see how daullaz’s team works out. Paper Tiger or Real Deal?
