Cafe/Fleaflicker Challenge: Flea Fighting Back

By R.J. White

Last week, for the fourth straight week, the Cafe posted more wins than Fleaflicker, going 5-3 for the third consecutive time. However, we knew that Fleaflicker wasn’t going down without a fight, and they’ve taken a stand in Week 6. We’ll get to that later, but first let’s give you some linkage. Check out our league and follow the standings here. If you’re into fantasy basketball as well, you’ll find a link for Fleaflicker’s signup on that page, and you definitely want to hop over to the Fantasy Basketball Cafe, where we’ve been privileged to have some great content going up in the weeks leading up to tipoff. One more plug: you can e-mail your fantasy football questions to us at ffcmailbag@gmail.com. We’ll answer them throughout the week, and if we get some particularly interesting e-mails, we’ll run them at some point before the upcoming games.

Week 6

My team seems to have an inverse relationship to the overall Cafe team for some reason; I’ve been getting my clock cleaned for weeks, and the Cafe has pulled ahead to a huge lead. In Week 6 I’ve posted a great score (and still have two players going tonight), yet this will likely be the first loss for the Cafe in terms of weeks. What happened? Despite a 100% efficiency rating (meaning he filled out his lineup card perfectly), bungle613 suffered his first loss in a very close game with Team Ski, who also impressed with a 99% efficiency rating. Fantasy matchups don’t get much better than that one.

We do have one potential savior. WaCougMBS, the writer of our excellent wrap-up column each week, has a shot at a comeback against the Carbondale Chargers, but we’ll need really big games from Antonio Gates and Jabar Gaffney. If your game is already decided, cross your fingers for those two guys and hope we can pull even in Week 6.

Update: The Cafe finished 3-5 for the week.
