Hopefully you’re running into Week 2 with a 1-0 record, four strong running backs, a slew of breakout receivers, an elite QB, a heavily-targeted tight end and a great defensive and kicking matchup. If so, we can’t do much to help you; you’re ready to steamroll your league. For everyone else, we’re back with Week 2’s Start/Sit Cafe Rankings. Kenny Britt has served his one-game suspension, and now you want to know if you should insert him immediately into your lineup (yes). Where does Robert Griffin III sit after a breakthrough Week 1 performance against the Saints? How about Stevan Ridley? Let’s find out now.

Start: Robert Griffin III, Redskins. The Redskins had the perfect gameplan for Griffin’s first game, mixing in elements from the Baylor offense and keeping the Saints defense on their heels all day. It’s not likely to be as easy for RG3 every week, but I don’t think the Rams have what it takes to slow him down, and I’d feel confident rolling with him as a QB1 this week.
Sit: Mark Sanchez, Jets. The Sanchize was excellent in Week 1, tossing 266 yards and three TDs. However, we’re not buying in yet. Let’s see how he does against a good Steelers defense without a lead. Tim Tebow isn’t going away any time soon (in fact, we have him over trainwreck Brandon Weeden this week), and it’s going to be hard for Sanchez to score multiple TDs consistently.

Start: Stevan Ridley, Patriots. Ridley was phenomenal in Week 1, and now he gets to face a Cardinals defense that likely has no prayer keeping close to the Patriots in the second half. That’s a recipe for 20-plus carries this week and a quality fantasy performance. I’m actually surprised he isn’t higher — I ranked him in my top 10 this week.
Sit: Jonathan Dwyer, Steelers. Dwyer was easily the most impressive Steelers back on Sunday night, fighting for yards while Isaac Redman fell down on first contact. However, he doesn’t have the best matchup in Week 2 (C.J. Spiller notwithstanding) and he missed practice with a foot injury. He could get 15 carries, he could be inactive. It’s probably best passing on him this week unless he practices fully later in the week and your other options aren’t great.

Start: Randall Cobb, Packers. The Packers look to employ Cobb in a Percy Harvin-type role, lining him up in the backfield in the absence of a quality third-down back. He caught all nine of his targets last week and should have a similar performance this week, especially if Greg Jennings can’t go. The window to buy low on Cobb is quickly closing.
Sit: Kevin Ogletree, Cowboys. He was the top-ranked receiver at the close of Week 1, catching nine passes for 114 yards and two TDs. So how does he rank as a sit just one week later? Ogletree managed to play in less than half of the Cowboys’ offensive snaps, and that percentage figures to scale back even further with Jason Witten healthier in Week 2. It may be smart to explore immediately flipping Ogletree before this week’s game if you plucked him off the wire.

Start: Jared Cook, Titans. Cook looks primed for a breakout this season, and in Week 1 he stayed on the field for virtually every offensive snap. Kenny Britt returns this week from suspension, and that may actually help Cook as defenses account for Britt’s deep-ball potential. He should continue to flirt with TE1 status all year.
Sit: Dennis Pitta, Ravens. Pitta brought it in Week 1, catching five passes for 73 yards and a TD. However, he was completely shut out in the first half, making it seem like he’s going to be a streaky fantasy performer. He’ll cede targets at tight end to Ed Dickson, and the Ravens have plenty other weapons to target in the passing game before getting to either tight end.

Start: Cincinnati Bengals. After watching the Browns flounder in Week 1, with Brandon Weeden throwing four picks while completing only 12 passes, I have to go with the Bengals as the waiver wire defense of the week. They should have no problem going into Cleveland and coming out with an excellent performance against the rookie QB.
Sit: Green Bay Packers. The Packers turned in a four-sack performance in Week 1 while adding a return TD, but they also surrendered 30 points to the 49ers at home. They face another quality offense in Week 2, and the Bears have many more weapons to stretch the Pack than San Francisco did. Stay away if you can.

Start: Nate Kaeding, Chargers. He’s back and kicking for a team with a pretty poor offense. Despite the Raiders routinely setting the Chargers up with fantastic field position on Monday night, all the team could manager were a glut of FGs. That bodes well for the healthy Kaeding this year.
Sit: Blair Walsh, Vikings. After a mediocre final college season in 2011, Walsh looked hands-off heading into our fantasy year. Then he went out and kicked four FGs in the first week. I’m not quite sold on him as of yet, and the Vikings should be able to manage more TDs and less FGs against the Colts this week. Keep an eye on him, but hold off on giving Walsh a Week 2 start.

Question:
Start as WR3 Randall Cobb, James Jones, Jeremy Maclin, or Torrey Smith?
I have Brandon Marshall and Hakeem Nicks as Wr1 and Wr2, and I feel pretty solid on these two.
What you think?
Thanks for any help.
I’d have to go with one of the Packers, and I’d personally lean toward Cobb.
RGIII or Vick?
Cutler or Peyton?
Thanks for the article R.J. always appreciated !
Sorry but Blair Walsh is the truth. Start him in all formats.
playing 3 RBs this week… Ridley, and Jamaal are locks. Can’t decide on third… Morris, CJ, or Trent
thoughts??
@Bryanhoop: I like RG3 there.
@rookie0308: I’d have to say Peyton. Falcons losing Grimes is huge, and he’s always dangerous in a nationally-televised game.
@SouthernPinky: I’m leaning Morris over CJ1K, and I don’t quite trust T-Rich yet.
Got Larry Fitzgerald, Victor Cruz, Rob Gronkowski all starting and then Randall Cobb,. Gotta play 2 WR and 1 WR/TE. Should I put in Cobb? If so, who should I bench? (Got Reggie Bush in the Flex position).
@ryryonline: I really like Cobb but I don’t think you can bench any of those guys for him.
Thanks for this weekly article, R.J. I use it every week.
Anyway, I was hoping to hear a little more about why to start Britt this week (given the title). Do you think the Titans will pull a JAX or MIN? In other words, say their star is gonna play only a handful of snaps and then keep him in for the whole game?
I’ve got to decide between Britt, D. Jackson, and S. Johnson and am leading towards Johnson. Thoughts?
@joejlitz: I’d go with Johnson as well. Britt may still see limited snaps but work his way to something like a 4-50-1 line.
Rudolph or Cook?
@TitsMcGahee: I have Cook slightly ahead, but both are good plays.
I can only play two of these 3 receivers..Larry fitzgerald Michael Crabtree and Vincent Jackson. I’m leaning toward crabtree and jackson just cause fitzgerald doesn’t have a good qb situation in AZ and jackson should be able to exploit the giants week secondary. Who to start?
I’d have to go Fitz and Jackson.
RG3 vs Rams or Romo vs Seahawks?
Starting Arian Foster, Percy Harvin, and Marquis Colston… who should I start as flex, Pierre Garcon or Trent Richardson?
@Soul2Go: Garcon is listed as a game time decision so I would go with Richardson
Pick 2 to start — McCoy vs Ravens, J.Charles vs Buffalo, or MJD vs Texans.
@BigSig55: I give the edge to RG3.
@Soul2Go: Richardson, as Garcon isn’t expected to play.
@enfuego757: McCoy is an every-week start, no matter the opponent. Of the other two, I have Charles slightly ahead.
Schaub or Freeman?
Vick or Schaub?
@ObeYsXeGianT: I like Freeman there, though the majority are taking Schaub this week.
@Jubileo: Gonna say Vick.
By the way, I was the second-most accurate Pro ranking QBs last week: http://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/accuracy/?sort=QB
FLEX, ogletree or b edwards?
