Week 9: Top Talents Back at RB and WR - 7 comments

By R.J. White

Week 9 brings back the Houston Texans and Arian Foster from a bye week, and he lands right on top of my RB rankings in our weekly Start/Sit column. A.J. Green is another well-rested guy at the top of his position. But if you have those guys, you know to start him week in and week out. What about Kenny Britt? Kyle Rudolph? If you need help filling out the lineup card this week, continue reading.

Start

Michael Vick. If Andy’s sticking with him, he’s a must-use in a great matchup with a terrible Saints defense.
Rashad Jennings. He went nowhere last week, but his workload begs him to stay in fantasy lineups moving forward.
Jonathan Stewart. He’s still the bell-cow, and picking up yards will be much easier against Washington than in Week 8.
Santana Moss. The absence of Pierre Garcon has made Moss a viable WR3 most weeks, including against CAR.
Cecil Shorts. He’s locked into Jacksonville’s starting lineup, so we should ride him while he’s hot, esp. as a flex.
Kyle Rudolph. I’m sticking with my guy Rudolph, as his targets should pick up after two slow weeks.
Broncos Defense. They were outstanding against the Saints, but they’ve been sneaky-good all year.

Sit

Josh Freeman. He’s been good for us for a few weeks, but for some reason, I don’t trust him in this road game.
Felix Jones. Even if he’s the “feature” back for another week with Murray out, he’s lost my faith with a 3.4 YPC.
LaRod Stephens-Howling. LSH was completely shut down by SF (no surprise), and I wouldn’t trust him here either.
Josh Gordon. He needs the deep TD to be effective, but I think the BAL pressure on Weeden won’t allow it.
Kenny Britt. The brittle Britt still isn’t at 100 percent, and I’m getting a little frustrated owning him at the halfway point.
Jermichael Finley. Last week felt like a potential breakout to some — didn’t happen. Gotta show me something first.
Steelers Defense. PIT has a tough task ahead with the Giants, and I think they struggle despite a great Week 8.

@Matt214racer: Going by the rankings above, I’d say the Dolphins are your best best. I think it’s OK to drop the 49er defense for them, but if you’re determined not to do that, I’d probably cut T.Young or Flacco. And definitely don’t make that trade — Broyles shouldn’t be owned in 10-team leagues.

Yes, I see the rankings, but I still need to ask: Stevie Johnson or Cecil Shorts? I need to replace Welker this week. Thanks!

Need help deciding which QB to start in my dynasty league. I really want to beat this weak @ss guy named Abran!
Now that Michael Vick has come out and said that he will no longer be conservative, should i start Vick or Peyton Manning? Both have some really nice match-ups but one has a lot to prove…(so he won’t get benched). I know that there may be a higher chance now that Vick throws INTs if he’s going to try too hard, but should I have faith in Vick over Manning? Thanks.

@DaddyPhatSAX: Can’t play Vick over Peyton right now. Manning is playing too well to even consider benching him for a guy that’s really struggled this year.
