its pretty impossible to tell what marshall is going to do this week. you'd think missing the preseason and a lot of practices would hurt his production, but he is brandon marshall.
I'd just start royal, especially if you're in a PPR. With the dinky dunk passing the broncos are doing, royal is going to get the ball at least 8 times..the problem is will the broncos get predictable and have those 8 receptions be really short completions. Most of them probably will be shot completions but he will break off a few, especially if marshall is out there. I think royal will be very similar to wes welker.
I'd go with royal, driver, and edwards to be safe. Nobody knows what marshall is going to do and I wouldn't start him until hes got his head back in the game.
i also have marshall in a league and i'm not sure what to do with him this week. he's a better talent than royal imo and eventually should outproduce, but it really is impossible to tell what he will do in week 1. i think royal is a safer bet but marshall has a higher upside so depending on your matchup you might roll the dice. ive seen some responses saying royal should be a killer in ppr leagues this week but last year marshall was a ppr beast, so i'm not sure why ppl feel this will change.
i'm hoping orton realizes he needs to get the ball in marshalls hands.
chicago secondary is a mess right now, ill take driver for sure. i like royal a lot, he gets looks and a lot of high comp. percentage passes. safe bet. and edwards should get about 15 targets in a game where the browns have to throw, and throw often. if he can hang on to 8 of those, he should have a solid outing.
give marshall a week or two to get his life together, and i think he'll emerge as a consistent play.
IF you start 2 WR's, i'd go with Driver ( Chicago's secondary is weak), and Royal (instead of Marshall for the same reasons mentioned above). IF you get to start a 3rd WR, I'd go with Edwards...he should also have a decent game as I expect them to be playing from behind and throwing alot
