WR and Flex positions - Who to start - WHIR

Postby joejccva » Thu Sep 17, 2009 11:33 pm

EDIT: Made 1 change since posting. I got rid of Chris Brown and picked up Jamal Lewis.

I question Vincent Jackson and Matt Forte. Should I consider these guys "studs"? Matt Forte got shutdown last week and this week he's going up against Pittsburgh. Vincent Jackson going up against Baltimore. The W/T and W/R are my flex positions. Please help and tell me how you would change my lineup around or leave as is.

My current lineup:
QB: M.Ryan vs CAR
WR: A.Johnson @ TEN
WR: V.Jackson vs BAL
RB: M.Forte vs PIT
RB: C.Johnson vs HOU
W/T: T.Gonzalez vs CAR
W/R: T.Jones vs NE
DEF: Minnesota @ DET

Players on my bench:
BENCH: QB: M.Sanchez vs NE
BENCH: QB: M.Stafford vs MIN
BENCH: WR: M.Jenkins vs CAR
BENCH: WR: J.Gage vs HOU
BENCH: WR: P.Crayton vs NYG
BENCH: WR: L.Moore @ PHI
BENCH: RB: L.McClain @ SD
BENCH: RB: J.Lewis @ DEN

looks good to me, the only thing i might change is switching out V. Jackson for Gage. The Titans are gonna have to be more balanced to win this week so I think they are gonna air it out more.

I have to agree. There is no better choice on the bench at RB. With Leron you have to hope he gets a GL carry cause if he does not more than likely he wont score much for ya. I agree with him on Gage to.

While I typically agree with NYjets on most issues, I think the Titans will actually air it out less this week. Tennessee could not get a run game going against Pittsburgh, but it will be a very different story against the Texans who allowed for 167 rushing yards last week. I consider Forte a stud so I'm starting him unless he disappointments me in the next couple of weeks. I'd say keep it how you got it...

The thing is after the lackluster performance of Rivers last week, I don't see him doing any better this week against Baltimore's defense.

I would keep Forte in there. I own Forte myself, and he was a disappointment last week, but you just don't have any other appealing options on the bench to justify benching a stud. I would probably sit Vincent Jackson against the Ravens and roll with Gage as well.

Thanks for the help with mine.

I just dropped Chris Brown and picked up Jamal Lewis off the waiver wire. I'm assuming that I should still play Forte against the Steelers instead of Lewis against the Broncos?

Yeah, Forte's a stud, don't bench him. Bears got pummeled last week because they were up against a defense they weren't used to from Green Bay. They should adjust this week and pass it out to forte a little more. Gage and Jackson are a coin toss to me, but I'd probably go with Vincent Jackson just becase

River's usually airs it out more
LT is injured/old? and Sproles might struggle against pitt defense
plus palamalu is out which frees up passing a little more

I would stick with the way you have it. Gotta go with Forte. I think the Bears will try to get him more involved this week.

I would switch Gage with Jackson just because Baltimore has a decent secondary and Houston doesn't.
Good luck.
