NFL Website Overall Standings Breakdown? Help

Hello everyone! I have a "what-if" scenario I'd like to run by you guys. Maybe you can help me.

Tie-Breaker standings are set to head-to-head in my league, but theres some confusion on what will happen if a certain event occurs this Sunday. Say if 7th place wins (5 strips 7-7) and 5th and 6th place lose (Lick my 7-7 and Harder Better 7-7).

Harder Better Foster has beaten 5 Strips HalfDOME twice this season, but has lost to Lick My PaulSAC. On the other hand, 5 Strips HalfDOME has beaten Lick MyPaulSAC.

So, if next week all three of these teams are 7-7, who will go where?? Sorry, I know its confusing. Thanks for looking! Top 6 go to post season.

Also, if you do understand this please provide an explanation. No one in my league seems to understand

Typically when you have multiple teams tied, you go on common opponents H2H. So only teams that all tied owners played the same amount of times. So in your scenario, you would look at what teams, all 4 of the teams that are tied, played the same number of times. The best record in that pool would be the top seed.

I'm sorry if this doesn't answer your question, but this is why I really like points for a tie breaker. I may be convinced differently down the road, but because we cannot defend in fantasy football, I like to go to the best way to determine a team's strength, and I personally feel that is overall points in a season.

I've become very convinced of that this year because in our league a team got in on a wildcard at 9-4, but put up about 200 fewer points than three other teams that finished 7-6, 6-7 and 6-7. They squeaked into the post season. That particular team put up fewer points than teams that missed the playoffs due to a worse record. The team was 11th of 14 teams in terms of points scored. They had great luck throughout the year (fewest points scored against).

Thus, because of that, I would not personally like to push a team through who happened to win a head to head match up. I'd rather push the team through that put up more points throughout the year. If another team was 9-4, scored 200 more points but just happened to lose the head to head match up, I'd hate to send home the team that scored so much more throughout the year. This year was a little odd for our league and that might be why I feel this way.
