Assassin's Creed II

Postby WaCougMBS » Fri Jan 15, 2010 4:34 am

Hey guys - I just finished playing this game (took about 16 hours over 10 days to get all 1000 xbox 360 achievements) and I thought it was a phenomenal game - everything from the graphics, to the story line, to the attention to detail in all aspects was simply amazing. It's probably one of the top-5 console games I've ever played (maybe higher if I actually made the list ;-) )...

Anyone else buy/play yet? Thoughts? :-?

Haven't ever played any of the Assassins Creed games but they look cool. I have a PS3 though. I might have to swoop one up. ;-D

AC2 is a lot of fun. I love all the brutal counters you can do. Have you seen the small movie line that they made along with it?

Yeah, those were really good! I watched them the week before I got the game and was all stoked by the time I got it ;-D

this is one of the games i wanted to get in 2010, unfortunately i havent bought it yet.. i dont own a ps3 or xbox to be able to buy it, & i didnt bought the pc version because of the draconian drm associated with the game..

i suggest that if you want this game, buy the ps3/xbox version coz the pc version is not worth the headache associated with it..
i've heard from a friend who has finished it that the game is really good, but it is abit shorter than ac1...

I had a 360 and played the first Assassin's Creed and loved it. So sweet being able to drive that knife in the guys' necks!

I got rid of the 360 and got a Wii, so I can't get this except on PC. Why don't I want to do that? What headaches?

On PC, they require a constant internet connection as a way to combat people pirating the game. So all of your information is stored online and you must be connected to the internet to be able to play it and even a slight hiccup in your connection can cause you to lose information and progress. It's just a huge headache and a terrible idea overall. It is infinitely better to own on the console systems.

i know people shudder at DRM and go on sometimes ridiculous rants about it infringing on the good people who buy the game yada yada and i know a lot of people are up in arms about Ubi's drm and from a certain point i get it and understand. i guess if you have a crap connection on your PC then it could be an issue. I on the other hand couldn't even tell you the last time my connection dropped out and i would gather most people on cable with decent service have the same experience. That being said I'm waiting for a sale to hit since my issue with it was Ubi's "were gonna shove $60.00 dollars down your throat cause MW2 got away with it" thing they are doing now. It recently dropped to $40 on steam and a good holiday sale will see that price hit even lower.
