I live in the Denver area but am not a big Bronco fan. Was wondering what everyone sees him worth this season for fantasy. I see him as a mobile Griese, with more upside potential given all the weapons surrounding him now. Whats everyones take on him. Think I would like to have him as a backup if not starter.
Yeah, I definately think Plummer has a lot of upside. You're exactly right - he has a ton of talent around him. I think he'll pull out some wins in Bronco town this year. He's not a horrible QB by any means. I see him posting up decent stats, similar to Trent Green with his first season in Kansas City.
Those weapons around him are huge
Sharpe, Smith, Portis, Lelie
With behind the back passes and what not, Plummer is the model for inconsistency. While he may have some good weeks because of the scheme, other weeks he may be terrible.
I guess we really won't know until the "real" season starts though.
Jake Plummer was lauded in most all the press as "The Next Steve Young" at the time.
For me? I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt.
I mean. How the hell can you judge any QB at Arizona?
I think he's got the skills. I think he's got the arm.
Now he's got Portis, Rod Smith, and a franchise with it's head screwed on straight.
Personally, I think he's got a real good chance of tearing it up in Denver.
And be the later-round pick-of-the-year for a lot of
fantasy owners.
MY 2 cents.

hes definately nothing over a backup for rounds 9-10+ but he has an upside. his problem was always INT. honestly though i thinkmost of his bad decisions came in the 2nd half of games when he was already behind by 14-28 pts and was forced to throw the ball into tight spots with bad WRs to just try and get something started.
id give him a shot as a backup if you let that spot slide a bit for better players elsewhere
I'm not sayin he's the next Elway(he crosses his fingers and prays for a miracle) but as you can see by my posting I expect about 3500 yds and 18-25 TD's and probably 3 rushing TD's. Shanahan has been accussed of not "knowing" QBs. Next year Plummer will be a top 5 drafted QB in every FF league.

Although I'd rather draft him as a backup, I believe he'll prove very quickly that he's worthy of starting in 10- and 12-team leagues. Great weapons in Rod Smith, Lelie, Sharpe and McCaffrey, plus you have to respect the running game with Portis.
Worried about the running game dominating over the pass? Not with a suspect defense and an explosive division like the West.
I think a supporting cast is very important for fantasy #'s, and Plummer has the cast. A stud running back, a great line, a great pass catching TE, and good WR's. If he would've landed in Chicago I would want nothing to do with him, but in Denver he could end up doing very well.
