All-Time Dominating D's.

Since the NFL adopted the 16-game schedule in 1978, only seven defenses have surrendered fewer than 200 points in a season, including the Bucs dominating unit of last year. Here is a look at those seven defenses:

Points Team Season
165 Ravens 2000
187 Bears 1986
191 Titans 2000
195 Steelers 1978
196 Bucs 2002
198 Bears 1985
198 Broncos 1978

this is just one fact adding to the argument that the mid-80s bears had the best defensive unit

this is always a dispute mainly with the steelers but the bears do hit that list twice and in back to back years

The '85 Bears were 10 points up when they stepped on the field.
The most awsome defense I have ever seen in 43 years of watching the NFL.
And what the numbers don't show is that they were unscored upon in both rounds of the playoffs, by the best the NFC could throw at them.
