Automated draft

Postby Bubba08 » Mon Aug 12, 2002 1:28 pm

I am in a 12 team non-keeper league. The league is head to head style. We are doing an automated draft system which forces us to rank players at each position. The interesting part is that you can also change the draft order of the positions. So not everyone is neccessarily drafting the same postion each round. I have no idea of my draft postions each round, but I want to hear some pros and cons of different orders of drafting.
This is the safe way I have now.

A couple concerns with this setup is...Should I have team d up so high?? Our league is head to head and it looks like d is a way to get a lot of points especially good special teams and scoring.

round 1: qb
round 2 : rb
round 3 : rb
round 4 : wr
round 5: defense team
round 6 : wr
round 7: te
round 8 : kicker
round 9 : reserve rb
round 10: reserve qb
round 11: reserve wr
round 12: reserve d
round 13: reseve te
round 14: reserve k

~How would try and take advantage of picking your own draft order by position. I was thinking of going rb, rb, qb, wr, wr, defense, kicker, te, reserve wr, reserve qb, reserve d, resever te, reserve k, reserve rb. I don't know what to do though....

Going RB-RB-QB-WR-WR would be best I'd say, drop TE,K and DEF even lower.

Maybe you should go RB-WR-QB the next three rounds and then get TE-K-DEF

defenses mostly are unreliable, as are special teams but you can count on weekly production from RBs and stud QBs and WRs.
