Judy Battista, NY Times

This season, the Jets want to use LaMont Jordan and Curtis Martin together in the backfield, with Jordan playing FB. The idea is not to have Jordan blocking for Martin, but to confuse defenses because they will not know who is going to get the ball. This will also allow Jordan to run routes that used to be run by FB Richie Anderson.

This increases the value of Jordan. But, I don't think it lowers that of Martin. A win-win situation? Hmm, maybe.

I think Jordan could have a huge upside. He is obviously going to get a good share of carries and Martin is not a young man anymore.

This RBBC trend in the NFL sucks. It's a great idea for the Jets, keeping Martin fresh while getting Jordan some carries, but it's not good for us ffers.

Watch the preseason games. Martin played hurt all year last year. If he bounces back he will still get 15 touches per game.

I dont think this will affect Martin TOO MUCH. I think that jordan will get more carries than last season but i also think martin will improve on last years #'s

The ultimate destruction of FFB, the RBBC. Seems like more and more teams are going to it every year. I will probably lay off Martin and look at Jordan as a late sleeper. If they split time, great, you might get some points from Jordan on bad weeks. If C-Mart gets hurt Jordan could turn into a stud ala last year's playoff game against the Colts.
