The Cards are not in favor of the Red Sox. Here are Six Reasons the Cardinals are going to win the World Series.
ACE: Curt Shilling. Curt Shilling is the 2nd best pitcher the AL, along with in MLB. But, injuries are going to hurt the Red Sox here as Shilling will pitch in Game 6/7, losing to a Cardinals line up that can make any pitcher look like he's from the minors.
KING: Tony LaRussa. People have been laying the smackdown on this guy recently and I'm not sure why. Tony LaRussa may be a little overhyped, but no way does he let the Cardinals get swept. Cardinals win game 4 solely because of LaRussa.
QUEEN: Red Sox fielding. Prior to the 7th inning (when the Red Sox tend to sub their defensive specialists), they have fielding that makes the Yankees defense look like the Twins'. They play in the field like women. Queens, if you will.
JACK: John (Jack) Mabry. The unsung hero of the Cardinals should step up... BIG. He has nearly as many strike outs as hits, but Mabry has been batting an impressive .296 this year and will come up with one of those clutch hits. Will it happen in extra innings? Possibly, but I have my money on a hit to break up a no-no by Pedro in Game 7.
TEN: Cardinals World Series Victories. A win this year would be the Cardinals 10th in Franchise History (only Yankees have more with 26).
Hearts: Red Sox Fans. What would MLB be if we didn't play on the Red Sox fans emotions? Imagine a year with the Red Sox fighting back from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Yankees, only to be up 3-0 themselves in the World Series and losing 4-3?
A Royal Flush! What a coincidence?... Anyway, you can just skip this post, I just wanted to ramble about something outside of Fantasy Football. Good luck to anyone facing tough matchups this week (unless you're a Giants fan of course).
