Depth or Starters??

Postby Devils & Spurs '03 » Fri Jul 25, 2003 1:29 pm

What's up guys... I am in a mock draft now and at a sticky point which has been following me for years, :-o maybe you can help solve this. Let's try not to hold to much in the scoring system for this is more strategy I guess. (Start 1 Qb, 2 rb,3wr, 1te/k/d)
I have drafted R. Williams with the #1 and W. Green and Moulds in the 2nd and 3rd. As my next 2 back-2-back picks come, I'm stumbling. Do I take a QB(culpepper, warner, gannon) and WR (driver, booker, stallworth) to have 5 solid positions? or do I grab a qb (thinking pep) OR wr(thinking driver,) and O. Smith to add depth to my rb's?
Do i go for depth @ this point in the draft or work on my starting lineup??
Thanks a MILLION!!!!!!!! ;-D

My personal philosphy is to fill out your starting (QB, RB, and WRs) first and then grab your backups, unless a gold nugget drops in your lap at a position where you already have your starters.

I would grab Culpepper in Round 4 if he's there. I can't envision him still being there in most leagues unless your league heavily penalizes for turnovers. Then at 5 I'd grab Shockey Heap or Gonzo. If they're gone then I'd grab Driver or Stallworth. I think it's way too early to grab O. Smith, he hasn't even been named the starter. Probably a little late but hope that helped.

that makes sense to me. i would go WR/QB here to have 2 top 10 WRs a top RB and a top 5 QB will make you a force to be reckoned with

I dont think Cpepp will fall to you most liely in the 4th but if he does jump at him. He could be the #1 QB this year easy

go rb/wr... culpepper, or even gannon would be steals in the 4th and 5th.

I'd go for Culpepper in round 4 if he's there. If not, get the best WR available then go for a QB.
