Sleeper TE

Postby Klayman » Fri Jul 25, 2003 9:21 pm

Everyone knows the "big three" TE's in FF this year. But who will be last years Todd Heap.

When looking thru the crowd this year my sleeper TE would be A Becht from the Jets. My reasoning behind this pick is the loss of Coles to the Jets Offense. Although Curtis Conway is adequate I believe Becht will see alot of looks this year from Pennington.

Whos your Sleeper TE.

I haven't heard anything good about Becht, to tell you the truth. Just talk about Chris Baker.

Like Slingblade said, Graham is a nice guy to keep an eye on. And as I've previously mentioned, I'll be targeting Eric Johnson and Stephen Alexander in the later rounds if I fail to grab my #1 TE Jeremy Shockey in the third or fourth round.

Also keep an eye on Dallas rookie TE Jason Witten. Parcells likes to use the TE, and he could be a nice pick.

I know this is a reach, but isn’t that what deep sleepers are made of? Ricks for the Lions could put up some pretty good numbers if Moochie’s offense clicks. Well worth a 10th round or lower look.

Freddie Jones.

Can you name another Cardinal receiving option (that isn't coming out of the backfield)?

Time's up. That is all the reason you need.

If you really want to gamble I'd actually look at this year's rookie class.

Mike Seidman from Carolina is a guy I really think could step up and be a factor in the Billy Miller mold from last year.

Another guy is Jason Witten in Dallas. Parcells loves his TEs although he doesn't love rookies...one of those things will have to give and I believe it will be the second since he doesn't have much of a choice but to rely on him. Dallas will pass this year and Witten should benefit nicely in his first year of play.

Last guy is Dallas Clark. The Colts are much better in double TE formations and Manning like to spread it around. So while he won't get Shockey-like numbers you can bet that he won't see a double team all year long with Harrison, Pollard and James around. He'll have less catches than the first two guys I mentioned but he'll probably have the highest ratio of TD/Catches of any of the aforementioned.

Jolley's not really a sleeper. He's probably top 6 or 7 on almost everyone's cheatsheets. My sleeper is Shockey, you heard it here first. ;-)
