Gonzo Injures Ankle.

According to the Associated Press, Tony Gonzalez injured his left ankle today. Gonzo pulled up lame at the end of a drill and walked around the field, favoring his ankle. He stayed on the sideline for the rest of practice. "He twinged his ankle a little bit. Nothing serious," head coach Dick Vermeil said.


If it's nothing serious, then we have nothing to worry about. After all, it's still July. However, when have you ever heard a coach talk negatively about a fresh injury? We aren't borrowing trouble and we hope Gonzo is okay, but we'll have our eye on this as the preseason rolls on.

That sounds like a one week injury at worst. If he didn't tear or break anything, expect him to practice sometime early next week.

Without a video feed we can’t judge the severity of the injury. It is all in Vermeil’s eyes.
If Vermeil’s eyes well up, Gonzo was just winded.
If he was in a teary weep, out for1 week.
Actual tears, 2 weeks.
Full blown crying jag, 3 weeks.
If he cries so much that he requires IV therapy to recover from the dehydration then Gonzo may be out the whole preseason, but be ready to lace em up by the opening whistle.
