Get Shockey the ball

Postby jebatzel » Sat Oct 30, 2004 12:07 pm

Coughlin was asked if he “envisioned” using Jeremy Shockey more this week. Shockey caught two passes against the Lions.

“We envision that every week,” Coughlin said. “We have many, many ways, and hopefully we’ll be able to get him the ball more.”

Warner said, “We always go in every week hoping to get Jeremy as much involved as we possibly can. You always want to get him really involved. He’s such a unique player and gives us such a unique advantage in a lot of regards, but there’s no question that we want to get him involved. We want to get him involved early and often and let him be a playmaker for us, so hopefully the game dictates that.”

Aww, are you upset that you spent a 6th 7th round pick on Shockey when you could have had Gates 4 rounds later. Just playing, but this hasn't been a very good year so far for the supposed top TEs. Shockey can still be good, but he needs to see the ball.

Thats the difference between people who buy media hype and those who don't. Two other TEs that were drafted the same year as Shockey are quietly putting up solid numbers better than Shockey. Those 2 players...McMichael and Graham. Of course I didn't predict Graham's success but I did have a good feeling McMichael would post solid numbers. Whats the lesson here? Be careful when Kellen Winslow comes back, he is another Miami TE that is way overhyped.

I think you're confusing fantasy value and real life value.

He had a few great looks that day.

Had a great catch but taken back by a foul. And if I recall didn't he also have a TD opportunity blown by a bad throw by Warner?

I would say Graham is pretty valuable for his team down in the redzone.

hell yes trade shockey for Heap! Not only is Heap better, but he is Baltimore's best receiver. Do in before guy #2 gets cold feet.
