OK. Drafted last night and was forced to take Stephen Davis due to all better RB options already being gone. After taking him, I started thinking about the positives he has going for him. FOr instance, he is a workhorse back playing on a team that will commit itself totally to the run. Last year, shmucky Lamar Smith scored several touchdowns and had a lot of yards for several different games behind the Carolina O-line. Davis is much more talented than Lamar Smith will ever be. Is Stephen Davis (despite injury concerns) a possible sleeper of the year pick?

It is entirely possible that Stephen Davis will have an incredible year. I think that he is a workhorse who will fit in perfectly with Carolina's offensive plan. I wouldn't worry to much about "being stuck with" Stephen Davis.

He will fit perfectly in to Carolina's offense, he will be handling the ball a lot. But the question is will he stay healthy, Davis dishes out and takes a beating. In Washington, he had at least three injuries in each of the last four years. And he's not much of a reciever. But I agree with xMcNabb22x, don't worry about being stuck with him.

My biggest concern is that knee of his, havent seen him play since he damaged it. If he is fit and stays fit, then like the others have said, he could be a great RB this year.

He's no schmuck and he has something to prove. But will the passing game keeping teams from loading up against the run?

There shouldn't be any concern of Stephen Davis getting hurt at camp. Michael Westbrook isn't there to beat his ass...

I like Davis but it depends where you got him. I would not want him as my first rounder but second or later is justifiable.

He will have a great year did u see what lamar smith did the beginning of last year...he was horrible but still put up good numbers cus of cars o-line and D. I wont hesitate to take him as a second pick.
