I also recently drafted and in a 10-team league ended up with him in the 3rd round. I like his chances for a return to glory this season as he will certainly be the focal point of the offense and you can't ask for much more from your 2nd RB.
i also have just drafted him in round 3 in a 14 team league. But the most important thing you should know is that carolina plays arizona and detroit during the fantasy playoffs i can just smell a superbowl.
