ANTHONY THOMAS/THOMAS JONES--any news from Bears fans?

I picked up Anthony Thomas and wondered if we knew how long Jones is out?

He may not be out at all...

Yahoo! player update thingy wrote:Nov 2 Coach Lovie Smith assumes Jones (foot), whose MRI Monday did not reveal any significant damage, will be able to play Sunday vs. the Giants, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Recommendation: The MRI results come as good news for Jones, who at least will not have to miss a substantial amount of time. The running back's availability for this week, however, won't likely be known until late in the week after Jones has tested out his sore foot in practice. Therefore, his fantasy owners should be ready with a backup in case Jones is not able to go Sunday, in which Anthony Thomas would get the start. - Rotowire

Nov 2 An MRI on Jones' ailing left foot has revealed a sprained big toe, but no structural damage was found. As a result, the Bears are optimistic that the running back will be available for Sunday's game against the New York Giants. He will be evaluated on a daily basis to determine his status. In seven games this season, Jones has 511 yards and five touchdowns on 117 carries, along with 26 receptions for 191 yards.

Advice: Jones likely won't practice much this week, and a decision on whether he will play might not come until pregame warmups. Anthony Thomas will get the starting nod if Jones is unable to play. - Stats, Inc.

I don't see any need to rush out there to pick up A-Train...I can't imagine that many people are going to be so desperate for a RB this week that they would have to pick him up.

From the way things sounds, Thomas Jones will play this week...but even if he doesn't, he'll get his starting job back right away when he gets heathly again (which should be right away).

A-train is okay if your in trouble but Jones is the man in Chicago and the offense is so bad with Grossman out even if A-thomas starts he won't get the carries and tds to win. Playing from behine doesn't hlep either. He's a decent #3 rb to start if they are playing a poor defense or team with a bad offense. The Bears have a solid o-line and good enough defense Jones should still be okay when he comes back though.

It doesn't sound that good for Jones...

From Rototimes.com

Nov. 4 Anthony Thomas (RB) Chi should start for the Bears on Sunday, as Thomas Jones is unlikely to play through a sprained toe that could keep him sidelined for three games, according to the Sun-Times.

Nov. 4 The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Thomas Jones (RB) Chi is expected to miss this week's game due to his sprained left big toe. He's listed as questionable but could miss as many as three games. Anthony Thomas would start in place of Jones.
