Brad Johnson breaking down already?

Postby awwchrist » Mon Jul 28, 2003 11:45 am

from espn:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Quarterback Brad Johnson did not participate in passing drills during two training camp sessions Sunday because of a sore arm.

Johnson suited up for both practices, but backups Shaun King and Chris Simms did all the throwing.

"Brad's arm is getting a little weary," coach Jon Gruden said. "We're going to keep a close on eye on him and look at our young quarterbacks in the meantime."

Johnson left the field without comment.

Johnson's arm is a little weary? Uh....can't be good when it's only July. Not that Brad's a top 10 QB...but he warrants the 2QB spot.

I think this is normal for B Johnson. He did the same thing last year, but I don't remember about the year before.

Possible fabrication from Gruden and the wiley vet. Johnson doesn’t need the work right now and one would think that he would know better than to push himself to hard this early. Could even be a ruse to push King. Probably nothing.
