Westbrook Practices, Might Play Sunday!

"Brian Westbrook, sidelined last Sunday with a cracked rib, took part in Wednesday morning's walk-through and is participating, albeit limited, in the team's afternoon practice

And while Sunday is a long way off, head coach Andy Reid said he would not be surprised if his versatile back is on the field for this weekend's showdown with the Steelers."

i would think absoloutely not.

there really is no point to it. The eagles still have five division games left. of the remaining nine games, 7 are conference.

there is zero point to play him right now. the eagles have two games up on the conference, this is out of conference -- and they might be able to beat pittsburgh anyway if mcnabb scrambles and they go back to the old way just for this game.

I don't see it. And I really don't see Reid as the type who needs the power ranking validation of this game. He won't tank it, but he isn't going to pull out all of the stops for an out of conference game. Its just not that important to the overall goal of the super bowl. in fact, trying to win this too much might mean a pyrric victory.

The only thing to do is to see what happens as the week progresses but I wouldn't count on being able to play him this week nor would I risk him vs. a stout, attacking D in Pittsburgh.

I don't plan on playing him this week nor do I recommend it to others. I just find it encouraging that he is actually practicing because I was expecting to be without him for "up to 4 weeks".

100 yards gives me a 5 point bonus, 15 points from a flex player is very good! ;-D

Even if he doesn't play this week, this is encouraging news that he'll be back next week.
