The Florida Times-Union reports Jags WR Jimmy Smith answered one of HC Jack Del Rio's biggest questions about the start of training camp by reporting Friday at 207 pounds. Smith, 34, enjoyed his best seasons at roughly 205 pounds, but bulked up to 220 pounds this off-season by adding mostly muscle. But Smith admittedly was sluggish because of the extra weight and vowed to lose it by the start of camp. Mission accomplished, Del Rio said. "He got down to 207, which is where he's comfortable," Del Rio said. "I really left it up to him, and he determined that's where he had to get back to in order to be comfortable. He looks great."
With Brunell out to prove he is still effective, and Mack gone from their 'red zone' package... Could J Smith be primed for a big year with the Jags?
