Jamal Lewis vs. Reuben Droughns

Postby Warpigs » Wed Nov 03, 2004 2:47 pm

Lewis is officially back this week, but is without stud blocker JOgden for about a month. Droughns has turned in some great games yardage-wise, but struggles to get in the endzone. Who will be the best fantasy option the rest of the way and by how much?

Jam Lewis, because he's proven. Droughns ain't in the same category as this brick-flippin' cat.

I have to agree. I don't think I could bring myself to sit Lewis despite Droughns' attractive match up this week.

To reinforce, I'd also play a refeshed Jamal Lewis against CLE. I'm thinking 2 td's and 100 this week from him.

You've got to go Jamal here. That team needs him badly to win and I'm sure they plan on riding him to victory.

Lewis is less banged up and a proven player

Droughns is still unproven

Droughns is clearly going to be better from here on out. I don't know how you could dispute that.....

BTW, I own Droughns and not Lewis.

I'm actually starting both this week (be nice if Droughns could find the end zone during his 150+ outbursts) ...
But I definitely like Lewis for the long haul. He'll be fresh and motivated. Ogden will eventually return, and Chester and Musa combined for 103 without Ogden last week - against Philly!

ok heres how I'm going to "dispute" that, benm3218. Jamal is coming with lots of rest. Stud blocker Ogden is a big loss. But this guy has speed and can break tackles. Droughns has not PROVEN himself yet. Yeah, a couple of good games but guys like Jamal, Ahman, LT , Holmes they've done better the couple of good games. Jamal all the way

Keep in mind how a fresh Jamal Lewis, behind a healthy LT Ogden did in week 1 against Cleveland. Lewis embarassed them twice last year. They didn't allow him to do that again in week 1. Now that they are banged up, I don't see any reason that Cleveland won't stop him again.

Bottom Line... start Droughns against a horrible Texans run defense this week with confidence. ;-D
