Anyone made the playoff after starting 1-7?

no this isnt my keeper team, somehow in that league im getting all my luck .. this is my money league.. and there are 2 other 5-2 teams, 4 4-4 teams and 2 2-6 teams then me.. I play a lot of the higher ranked teams coming up but have more points than all but 2.. maybe a change of luck would be nice

Ever the optimist, let me try to give you a little reassurance...

Your playoff prospects actually could depend on your league size, and how sucky the other teams. For instance, if all the other teams are in the mid-zone win/loss range (i.e., 4/4), and there aren't any playoffs locks, then maybe, just maybe, you could pull it off.

So optimisticly, the only way is if:
1.) the other teams suck
2.) you have points comparable to everyone else (you just happened to get outscored on your games thus far)

What you'd be shooting for in this instance is for you to get into a tied win/loss category for the 4th playoff spot and win because of points. So... what's your league win/loss schedule look like?

did ya even read the original post? he said the other teams were 7-1,6-2,5-3,5-3. and if the other teams were that bad , how would he be 1-7?? and now we finf out it's a money league,they are almost always much more competitive. just aint gonna happen.

well... i wouldn't be surprised if he were done mathematically to. This is, presumably, calculable.

Four teams make the playoffs, you already have four teams with 7-1, 6-2, 5-3, 5-3 records. Your record is 1-7 so you need to win the rest of your games to go 8-7, since your playoffs are weeks 16 & 17. While you need the 5-3 teams to both go 3-4 just to tie. Then you'd have to deal with the tiebreaker. I don't think you have a shot.

i am 1-7 as well. I don't think it is possible. although, we have a small league (just for fun and smack talking) and I wonder if it is in theory semi-possible.

MY team is second in scoring. (will probably be thrid after this week)

But, since you play the teams in front of you more, you can make up whole games. If you get a few breaks, say the top two or three teams beat the other people in front of you, AND you beat the people in front of you, you may sneak in.

I am 1-7 with:

brooks/brees.vick
moulds, jimmy smith, hines ward (start three)
ahman green, chris brown, fred taylor, curtis martin

stokely, pittman, chambers, suggs.

sucks. My team is certainly not stellar, but it is scoring well, I am just either making decisions that cost me a few points (and a loss) or getting ont he receivng end of the huge games.
