In my league we have a two day waiver wire. Is it unethical to, pick up a player early in the week, and drop him on a Friday so no one can play him on the weekend?
Well, that's borderline "roster churning" as you're intentionally taking players with the "un"expressed purpose of keeping another person from having them.
If I saw that in my league, I'd probably notify the commish.

my feeling is that it is unethical. I would be quite upset if someone had done this in my league. In fact, as commissioner what I do is that if a player had not been kept on a roster during a game I turn him into a free agent.

I've seen a bunch of threads on this and the general consensus seems to be that it is unethical. However, If you only do it with one player, and do not repeat it every week, you should be able to get away with it.
This has been posted several times before. I agree that it may not be written in your rules, but I think it's not a nice thing to do, and it's a way to get your roster frozen if I am not mistaken. I believe it's in the Yahoo rules as well, that it's illegal.
I wouldn't do it. It's a pretty good way to piss off everyone in your league.
I have never done it before, but there is someone in my league who has done it several times this year. I'm not one to make waves, but its a little frustrating.
