Bye weeks and injuries hurting you this week? Start Reno

Postby Shader » Fri Nov 05, 2004 9:20 am

John Clayton said the Eagles are starting Reno Mahe this week. While many of you will say that the Steelers have a great run defense, I challenge that. If you look at the rb's they've faced, Rudi ran over 100 yards on them, and Jamal had 60 yards and 2 td's. The rest of the rb's have done NOTHING on them because they are all horrible.

Who knows, Reno could explode and be a "mewelde moore". Even if you don't plan on starting him, put him on your roster.

If heavy TD-weighted leagues, I wouldn't play him.

He's very small. He's a very good pass-catcher too. He could get 120 combo yards, but I seriously doubt he scores unless he really breaks one.

Picked him up in case of emergency. And I have an emergency. On life support with my top 6 RB's & WR hurt or on bye.

T. Jones
B. Westbrook
C. Dillon

R. Williams

I have heard read in numerous places that Westbrook would start. I personally like Mahe and thought he was a nice sleeper when Westy was out, but when Westy is healthy Mahe holds no value.

Heres a article

Nov 5 Westbrook (ribs) practiced again on Friday and will play against the Steelers, the Eagles' Web site reports.
Recommendation: Coach Andy Reid said that Westbrook looked good on Friday, but isn't sure how much he'll play Sunday. "Right now we'll play him," Reid said. "He wants to play and he feels good." The Eagles' coach then went on to add that he didn't know how many carries Westbrook would get. "Well we'll see," noted Reid. "I don't have a number, no. I'm just going to play him. I'll rotate him like I did before he was hurt."

Chances are Philadelphia won't want to risk Westbrook's long-term health and will be cautious with its No. 1 running back on Sunday. He'll play, but perhaps as a decoy as much as anything

I agree with most people. Mahe, while Westbrook was healthy would have been a fantastic pick up. But now that Westbrook is back (I think) I'm pretty sure he'll have no value. Its like the Deuce and Aaron situation. Aaron Stecker was a great pickup but was worthless when Deuce came back.
