Here's the latest news I can find...
Saturday
Receiver Deion Branch will miss his sixth straight game because of a knee injury.
Branch, who was listed as doubtful for this weekend, didn't travel with the team for tomorrow's game against the St. Louis Rams. He led the Patriots with 57 catches last season, but has just eight catches for 93 yards and a touchdown this year.
Branch hasn't played since he was injured in Week 2 against Arizona.
Also of interest. ...
Although Bill Belichick suggested after Friday's practice that David Givens might be upgraded from questionable to probable before game time tomorrow afternoon, it didn't happen when the team updated their official injury report a short time ago.
Despite their late afternoon kickoff, I'll continue to monitor all New England's walking wounded -- Givens and Corey Dillon in particular -- through tomorrow morning and try to bring you further details on their status if at all possible.
Sunday
The status of Corey Dillon (thigh), David Givens (knee) and Troy Brown (shoulder) for today's game against the Rams will be determined by "Dreaded Game-Time Decisions."
None of the three took part in full-team drills this week, although Brown played last week and Givens was reportedly doing better late in the week and head coach Bill Belichick hinted he might be upgraded to probable prior to kickoff.
We will continue to look for information regarding this situation, but because of the late kickoff it is unlikely I'll be able to provide his final status prior to this morning's first kickoffs.
That's my two cents and it's worth every penny of it!
