Whats with all the vick haters?

Does anyone know what a good QB is, or what???

Vick is exciting to watch but 1 year does not make a Fantasy stud.
1)He has a poor receiving staff. After Peerless you have Finneran and the TE Crumpler.
2) He has to scramble because of below average pass protection and double coverage on his #1 receiver.
3) Becasue he has to leave his protection, he then leaves himself open for injury.
5)Can only run 1 direction to the left.
6)Low passing touchdown #'s (there is a plus to the rushing TD's)
7) 2 games against Tampa including one during Fantasy Playoffs.
8) Good rushing D's will contain him.
9) Still has not learned how to slide
10)He should be the #3 QB behind Mcnabb and Culpeper.

13)oh yea and hes the madden cover boy(obviously i feel as strongly about this curse as boston fans do about the great bambino curse.)
14)like in number 7, in most leagues vick plays the falcons in the superbowl(Week 16)
15) And Vick is so young he has plenty of room to make mistakes which I am sure he will make, he is not at a point in his career where mistakes will break him. He is still young and is still growing up and yes im sure he will be one of the best (barring injury) but not this year.

No one questioned his greatness. I doubt you'll find a lot of people on this board that will say that he is NOT the most exciting player in the league. He is.

However, a lot of us think the hype has him overvalued.

I agree with Transmogrifier. The Madden Curse aside (superstitious little bastards, aren't you all?), Vick is an electrifying QB who has a great arm, and can generate extra points with his feet. That said, he is a top 5-6 QB (I think Manning, Warner, and Garcia have to go in with Culpepper, McNabb, and Vick) who is being drafted WAY to early by people who think he's The Second Coming.

I went to grad school in Blacksburg, so I have been hearing about Vick for what seems like forever. He is a fantasy stud. But he's not Dan Marino circa 1984 or even Kurt Warner circa 1999. If he's hanging around where he becomes a value pick, I'll take him and be very happy. But that point is not the second round, sorry...

1 point/10 yards rushing
6 points rushing TD
4 points passing TD

It's hard to justify Vick not being one of the top 3 QBs drafted (McNabb/Culpepper the other two). Personally, I rank him 2nd after McNabb.

We have the same scoring, plus we give a bonus for length of TD. That's why I have Vick ranked high as well. Vick finished 4th in scoring among QBs in my league last year, and I think he'll do better this year.
