Running back Duce Staley suffered a hamstring injury in Friday's practice and may not be available to play Sunday against his old team, the Eagles. The seriousness of Staley's injury was not known until Saturday, when he complained to the Steelers' trainers about it. He had been listed as probable with a knee injury, but has been downgraded to questionable with the new injury.

If Staley can't play, Jerome Bettis would get the start against the Eagles. Third-down back Verron Haynes may also see additional work on first and second downs if Staley is unable to play.

Staley, the third-leading rusher in the AFC with 707 yards, has a hamstring injury that prompted the Steelers yesterday to downgrade his status to questionable today against the Philadelphia Eagles at Heinz Field. Jerome Bettis likely will make his first start of the season in Staley's place." Staley's fantasy value just took a big plunge for today's game against the undefeated Eagles. If you have options at RB consider them.

ESPN just verified the earlier report that Staley will NOT play today and Bettis will start. Ron Jaworski on ESPN just said this came directly from team sources.
