The Patriots havent made a concrete report (go figure) on the status of receiver Deion Branch (knee), but he has to be close to a return. He hasnt been available for six games, which is enough time to heal from most knee injuries that dont involve a bad sprain or tear. Branchs extended absence has landed him on waivers in countless leagues, and hes well worth the gamble

Sounds like they may simply be saying, "HMMM...been six weeks....even if the damn thing was broken, he ought be back one of these days...."
