I know he's going into a bye, but has anyone heard anything on this?

Just for the record NYJ are at Balt this week

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Jets quarterback Chad Pennington bruised his right shoulder Sunday and missed most of the fourth quarter in New York's 22-17 loss to Buffalo.

Pennington will have further tests on his throwing shoulder Monday. He said he plans on playing next weekend when the Jets host Baltimore.

"It feels like a charley horse, just in your shoulder," Pennington said.

Pennington was hurt in the first quarter when he scrambled up the middle for a 12-yard gain. Rather than sliding, he elected to dive ahead and was hit from the right side by linebacker London Fletcher, who forced a fumble.

Yeah Jets are hosting Baltimore this weekend and Chad's injury to his throwing shoulder is not suppose to be serious. Reports are that he should play this weekend.

Postby Keyser_WV » Mon Nov 08, 2004 2:13 pm

I just heard on ESPN News that Pennington could be out 2-4 weeks due to his shoulder injury.

Herm Edwards said he is definately out next week.

ESPNews Chad Pennington has a rotator cuff strain and will miss week ten because of the injury.
Herm Edwards wavered on Pennington's recovery time. He said Pennington could miss 2-4 weeks, but would be evaluated "week-to-week." Later in the presser, Edwards said Pennington is a fast healer and may try to play in "a week or two." Look for Curtis Martin to be a focal point of the offense. This hurts Santana Moss and Justin McCareins short-term value. We'll update with details to follow. Nov. 8 - 2:05 pm et

how good is Carter? is he reliable or should you try to trade for someone else if u have nothing on bench? He did throw a 50 yd TD to Moss so that's a good sign I guess.

well Penny hasnt exactly been lightin up the fantrasy scoreboards this year so i dont think you'll take too much of a hit by just playing Carter, Im sure the game plan will be martin - Martin- Jordan - Martin, etc.

Ben, thanks for the observation. Didn't see that game.
I was getting optimistic anyway since Q has already done something that Penny has yet to do this year: Throw a TD pass to Santana!
