Leftwich Update

Postby Warpigs » Mon Nov 08, 2004 2:45 pm

Anyone hear what the plan is with Leftwich. Last I heard, they were supposed to re-assess today and make an announcement on if he'll be back by this coming weekend or be out for a while.

Per Trey Wingo on ESPN News, Lefty will be OUT for 2 weeks starting this week. This means he will be back for week 12.

I wonder if that includes this past weekend's bye or if it means the next two weeks (10 and 11)? Either way, it's better than some of the reports that he'd be out four weeks to the rest of the season.

Thanks Mercer

Nov 8 Quarterback Byron Leftwich had his sprained left knee re-evaluated Monday, and while doctors determined he won't need surgery, he is expected to miss the Jaguars' next two games. Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio indicated there was a slight possibility Leftwich could return November 21 against Tennessee, but a more likely return date would be the following week at Minnesota. Leftwich sprained the lateral collateral ligament in his left knee during the Jaguars' October 31 loss to the Texans, though he returned to the game after suffering the injury.
Views: David Garrard will make the second start of his NFL career this Sunday against the Lions, but the real onus will be on Fred Taylor to shoulder the load for the Jacksonville offense.

Yep, I saw that. Said he is expected back for the Nov. 28th game.
