Probably to mirror the trade deadline in the NFL.

Hmm, other than I'm not sure...maybe to prevent bad trades from going through at the end of the year so people going to playoffs could get an advantage?

I thought about the dumping players thing also, but we have a league vote on all trades and manager veto for that such a thing.

Yeah that would be my guess. Like if someone is in last place and they trade away all there studs to a second place team to help the second place team in the playoffs. But if your talking about Yahoo you can contact your commisoner and it can be turned off if your league would rather have it off.

I know a trade deadline is very important for a league like mine. It is a keeper league thus you can have trades at the end of the season where it may be a fair trade, however a team that is in last place may trade away a guy like T.O for a guy like K Jones or Rothlisberger assuming these rookies where drafted in the end of the draft. This can cause one team to be very strong for the playoffs and when there is money involved this can be a problem

Agreed with AGENT - nothing like seeing a studs-for-draft-picks trade just before the playoffs in a keeper league, as fair as that deal may be...
