This from Rotowire:
Nov 8 Staley (hamstring) was nearly cleared to play against the Eagles, according to coach Bill Cowher, the Steelers' Web site reports.
Recommendation: "He was close," Cowher claimed. "He practiced Thursday and Friday. He felt something on one of the very last plays that he was in there at practice and a little bit from last week. It's hard to judge Duce because he starts to loosen up a little bit more each day. It was a little touchy because he came in Saturday and still felt it. That's why we downgraded him." Cowher added that there's still half of a season left, and the team was looking at the big picture when Staley was deactivated. Look for Staley to play at Cleveland Sunday.
