How would you rank defenses given our league grants D/ST 1pt per 10 yd returns.
A lot of the higher scoring defenses then get a lot of points if they are scored upon a lot and hence get the chance to return the ball a lot. For instance, Houston defense did a horrible job but was rewarded in our league since they got 180 return yds!
It almost makes you want to start a defense facing an offensive powerhouse rather than the other way around and depend on turnovers, etc.
Thoughts?
16-teams - 1pt per 10yds rush/receive, 1 pt per 25 yds pass,No PPR QB(1): Orton,Leftwich,Leinart RB(2): Jones-Drew, Grant, Cadillac, L Washington, J Davis, Bernard Scott WR(2): R. White, V. Jackson TE(1): D. Clark, J. Finley K(1): Gould Def(1): BALT,GNB
I don't know how the numbers work out, exactly, but I'm sure Baltimore with Sams would still be top dog... I also think Atlanta, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Chicago would be good with their good D's and good return men...
My dilemma is i have ARI defense - a middle of the road play this week against CAR
I am going to pickup off the WW:
Seattle - which the formula ranks highly as they play MIA - but this does not account for return yds I believe
CHicago - whom I foolishly dropped 2 weeks ago vs. IND
They will get scored on a lot but again as long as they keep the score under 31 the defense is not penalized - also, they would rack up lot of points for return yds at 1 pt per 10 yds returned
