Thomas Jones update

Postby tomas21 » Wed Nov 17, 2004 7:42 pm

Lovie smith said on bears blitz that jones practiced today and he expects him to play, though he's listed as questionable on the bears injury report. maybe that's just to keep indy guessing on where the bears high-powered offense will hit them from ;-)

I guess the question is, do things go back to normal or will Thomas Jones share carries with A-Train ?

I have a feeling things will go pretty much back to how they were IF Jones is 100%. That is, Jones will get 20-25 touches, and A-Train will come in when Jones gets tired and possibly be the guy for one or two drives (remember that the average Bears "drive" lasts 2-5 plays). Keep tabs on this if you own either.
Before you take anything I say too seriously, be aware of the fact that Derrick Mason, Cadillac Williams, Reuben Droughns, Jason Witten, and Mike Bell are all on my team this year!

agreed. as i mentioned in a previous post, atrain is a free agent who the bears have no intention of bringing back next year, and he wants to go somewhere where he'll start. so the bears aren't going to give him any more time than they have too. plus, he's the type of back who gets better as teh game goes on, so he's not really suited for spot duty. if you're an atrain owner, nows the time to sell.

I think that Jones will continue to see the majority of the work...Atrain does not fit into the picture.....

Is Thomas Jones definitely starting this week ?

I have A-Train as a reserve and also Antowain Smith (Chris Brown's backup) that I can also start if needed.
Any thoughts ?

That's great news for Jones owners. He should be able to show off his dual-threat skills against the Colts. Just hope that he doesn't get pulled at the goal-line.
