Trade deadlines?

Does everyone have a deadline as to when you can pick up FA's or conduct trades?If so,what is the optimal time for this?Ours was week 9,and I thought that may have been a week or two early.Maybe it's just for selfish reasons and I'm biased on it,but to get myself ready for the playoffs,I want a bit more time to dump the dead weight and get useful backups.What do you think?

In both of my money leagues, the trade deadline is the day before week 11's games. After Week 11 starts, no team may make a trade. Furthermore, after week 11 starts, any player who is dropped from a team is "retired" for the season.

most trade deadlines are from about weeks 9 to 11. the later the better for me.

Last year, we moved our trade deadline back a little to Thanksgiving Day.

As for free agents, free agents can continue to be picked up off the waiver wire all the way through the playoffs.

Drops from rosters for teams that are out of contention are highly scrutinized after about Week 10 by our competition comittee , however.

I assume Yahoo leagues allow FA & WW moves even after the trade deadline which is today?

Anyone know for sure?

Yahoo standard trade deadline is today, Friday Nov 19, which coincidentally is week 11. Almost every league I've been in has done it around this time.

As for free agents, you shouldn't put a deadline on them. Never know when you'll lose someone to injury, when someone might spark and start doing well, etc.

Our trade deadline is today. This is a 10 team league with the playoffs starting week 15. Should have been a week or two earlier.
