How much Money is a MONEY League anyway?

I think wagering anything on it makes the league legit. wagering 5 or 500 dollars keeps people honest. people want to win the money, but also the respect that comes along with it.

12 Team league, $150 per team.
75% to SuperBowl Winner
25 % to the loser

I dont play in a money league as being in the Uk its hard to find anybody else who even likes football let alone join me in a fantasy league.

However I am in a fantasy "soccer" game in work, there are 24 of us and it costs £25 to participate (approximatly $50 or thereabouts)

We allow any amount of players to play in one league (soccer has lower division which can be extended to suit the amount of players)

Basically it ends up with the winner getting 50% of the pot, second gets 25% and third gets 10% Whatever is left is given to the booby prize winner with the worst record yet they have to perform a forfeit to claim the prize.

I am in a different type of league in that it is not a h2h league but a points league. The money works on on a weekly average of the points scored. Basically the $ per point is dependent on the number of teams but in a 10 team its 9$ per point. Usually the winner at the end ends up with like 1000-1200 dollars and the loser usually losing 1000. Many teams have multiple owners so they can split the cost/winnings to lessen the risk. This is a good style for a points league as it is not so anticlimactic. Tough to do with more than 12 owners becuase the money gets out of hand... but is a good league for odd number of owners, this year there are 9. Also, no waiver only a midseason draft.

I'm in 3 "money" leagues, all 12 owners:
League 1 (the granddaddy)--$1,000 entry; league comprised mostly of a group of us that went to college together (this entry fee has increased steadily since the league's inception in '94 as all of us are now financially able to put up that kind of a financial stake for a hobby we love.
League 2--$300 dollar entry (a group of us that "met" on another fantasy football forum several years ago)
League 3--$200 entry (mostly a group of us that work for the same company)

My "money" league is a 14 team league. $110 entry fee, $5 per transaction. The money is dispersed as follows:

$100 to the regular season champion (person with best record at end of 14 weeks)

$100 to 3rd place team

$200 to 2nd place team

$1,400 to 1st place champion

Of course, the definition of a "money" league is all relative.
