Anyone think Bennett's performance was a fluke lastweek, i thought he was all but done for the year, then he does this.
Im tryin go decide if im gonna play him this week. He's goin up against Jacsonville D. So do you's think last week was a fluke? or could we execpt more out of him?

Chris.

Well if C.Brown is out again and they can't run the ball I expect they will be passing alot against the Jacksonville defense and he could very well have another big game.

Bennett is way too inconsistent. Mason is the go to guy. With Brown being dinged they could be passing alot this week. Bennett may be an ok play this week....tough to say.

Other than Bennett, who else are you considering starting?

I think a lot depends on if McNair plays. before last week volek didnt know bennett was alive, so i would say last week was a fluke. two blown coverage plays gave bennett two huge gains also.

Have you seen the TENN schedule the rest of the way?

Postby hammerwx » Fri Nov 19, 2004 4:55 pm

.....ride Bennett to the playoffs as TEN will be involved in some big time shootouts starting next week...

I don't think it matters whether its Volek or McNair. Bennett put up a big 0 in week 9 due to his sore ribs, which have appeared to have healed

C. Brown is hurt & his prognosis for the rest of the year is bleak.

You might want to bench Bennett this week against JAC....
but Mason & Bennett are almost must starts in weeks 12-15.
I've loaded up my rosters with at least one of the two for the stretch run.

at HOU
at IND
KC
at OAK

It does not get any better than that....

...as long as he stays healthy.

I do think it matters whether McNair plays as he was frustrated at Bennett for some drops during his last game. D. Mason made a big point to say after that game that McNair is "big on trust" and it seemed that he was losing faith in Bennett. PLUS, McNair has missed game time, so his timing w/ someone like Bennett might be off as opposed to someone like Mason (w/ whom he's built a good chemistry with over the years). I am starting Bennett as a WR3, but am not expecting terrific numbers from him, just hoping for some yards & receptions every week, w/ an occasional TD.

Bennett's numbers this year. Until he got hurt, rather consistent.
1pt/rec 1pt/10yds 6pt/TD

WK1 4.5 (inj)
WK2 15.2
WK3 11.5
WK4 19.9
WK5 13.2
WK6 16.9
WK7 2.8 (inj)
WK8 0.0 (inj)
WK9 bye
WK10 26.8

Bennett was banged up coming out of camp, and then the ribs in WK 7 & 8. If he can stay healthy, should produce nicely, esp with that schedule.
