Thanks to the Cafe's other post about buy low WRs, I'm considering chasing AJ. Where do you guys rank him in the group of WRs...top-10, or even top-5? Do you rank him above some solid vets like Holt, Ward, Mason, D. Jackson, J. Smith, and Chad Johnson? What about fellow breakout star Javon Walker? Do you take the track record over the insane athletic ability and potential, or vice versa?
Here are my top-10 WRs (and where AJ fits in with them)...feel free to post a rebuttal or agree...
1. Owens
2. (Moss when he returns)
3. Harrison
4. Horn
5. Ward
6. Holt
7. Walker
8. A. Johnson
9. J. Smith
10. D. Jackson
(CJ and Mase just missed the top-10)
Furthermore, what RBs are around the value of Andre Johnson? Currently, I have five RBs to start in four spots. James, J. Lewis, McAllister, Droughns, and C. Brown. I'm thinking that all are above AJ, with Brown only slightly above...
Thanks for reading the long post and helping.
Rotoworld did mention this little tidbit, though. Who knows if AJ will adjust in time for the rest of the year:
Andre Johnson's production is down dramatically since teams began routinely double-teaming him.
It was bound to happen. But all that safety help is hurting A.J.'s big-play ability. That said, Johnson is a young star who can adjust. This week, versus the terrible Green Bay secondary, is a good time to start.
